What is the Basement Private Tenancy Scheme?
The Private Tenancy Scheme believes that every young person has the right to a safe and secure home.
The scheme provides a housing option for young people through private sector tenancies. We provide financial guarantees to landlords and initial support in setting up a tenancy and ongoing support if you need it.

Applying for the scheme?
You can apply for the scheme yourself or through an external agency.
Once a referral form has been completed and sent to the Basement Project it will be checked by the scheme workers to ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria.
What happens when I apply?
If you are eligible you will be contacted and an interview will be arranged.
During the interview the scheme worker will ask you questions about you and your housing history. It is also your chance to ask questions about your housing needs.
After the interview reference requests will be sent out. Once your referees have returned appropriate information on you, proving you suitable, you will be accepted.
